GSM is grams per square meter: weigh a square meter of the fabric and that is the number. It is the most useful figure on a blank, and the most misread. Heavier is not better. Heavier is different.
Our range runs from 140gsm to 380gsm, all on one block, and every step up changes three things: how it hangs, how it takes a print, and which months you will wear it.
A heavier cloth gives ink a firmer, flatter surface, so fine lines and big solid areas both sit cleaner. A lighter tee moves more, and the print moves with it. Neither is wrong. A soft one-color chest print suits 140gsm. A four-color back print wants 220 or more.
Every weight is enzyme washed and pre-shrunk to under 3 percent before it ships, and each new weight goes through fifty washes before it goes on sale. The care changes at the fleece: tees can tumble dry low, but the 320 and 380 pieces should dry flat, and the print should never be ironed.
So pick the weight for the months you will wear it most, then the fit. If you want one tee for the whole year, 180 is the safe answer. If you want one that still looks new next year, go to 220.
Recycled board, printed once, stacked on a pallet. The least glamorous part of the business and the part that gets the order to you.
In a shop you would pick it up, hold it to the light and pull the collar. Online you cannot, so here is what to read instead.
Starting a label or a merch table? You do not need twelve garments. Three, chosen by weight rather than by style, will cover the year.
Seven things to check before you put ink, thread or vinyl on a blank, and a cheap way to test them before you commit to a run.
Color is the easiest thing to change. The fit decides how a garment hangs, where the print lands and whether you wear it at all, so start there.
