People starting a label tend to order too much of too many things. Six styles, four colors, every size, and half of it still boxed a year later. The range that sells is nearly always smaller than the one you planned.
What we tell the people who come through our print room: start with three blanks, and choose them by weight.
The three
- A tee people wear every day. The Classic Tee at 180gsm, true to size, or the Heavyweight 220 if your crowd likes a tee with some weight to it. This is the one that sells most, so it carries your main print.
- A shape with an opinion. The Oversized Boxy at 240gsm or the Crop Boxy at 180gsm. Same artwork, a different silhouette, and often the piece people ask about.
- Something for winter. The Hoodie at 380gsm. It costs you the same $32 as the tee, it sells for more, and it keeps moving when the tees slow down.
Why weight, not style
All twelve ENVY garments come off one pattern block, so a medium behaves like a medium across all three. The customer who wears M in your tee wears M in your hoodie, and your size run stays simple. Only the Oversized Boxy, the Crop Boxy and the Fitted Tee ask for a different size, and each one tells you which way.
Start with one of each
Every garment is $32 whether you order one or a thousand, so buy one of each, print them, wear them for two weeks and wash them. Then order the run. There is no minimum and no price break to chase, which means no reason to hold stock you are not sure of.
We restock every Monday, so you can reorder what sells rather than guess in advance. Keep the rest of the money for the second print.
